Summer Math Program
Welcome to our summer program. Join us for a fun and educational experience!
PLEASE READ THROUGH. IT WILL ANSWER MOST OF YOUR QUESTIONS :)
(Notebook is mandatory to bring. That way you will be able to see all the work done in the class)
All classes are in person. No online classes. Completely academics base with only focus on the concepts and deep understanding of topics.
My address is 428 Escobar street Fremont. I have a dedicated classroom set up at my home. Shaded space and washroom for the kids available. Air conditioner class room.
My summer program is famous for its success, the amount of math we do, the clarity of concepts that is provided and making kids next grade ready.
Only two make ups per module.
Summer program is different from the regular round the year classes.
Both modules are different. Its a continuation, not a repeat. I broke it into two modules to give you flexibility for the travels. Talk to me about your travel plans and I can accommodate it in a way that fits both of us well.
I might change a schedule based on the number of registration for that class. Its unlikely but possible. I will try my best to accommodate everyone well.
Around 8-10 kids per class. Summer classes are much more rigorous then round the year classes. I take full responsibility of better control and practice.
All classes will have homework. It is your responsibility to ensure completion at home. It is my responsibility to check it for understanding of the concept and the correctness.
Please contact me for online precalculus classes. Different teacher. Excellent teaching experience of 10+ years.
Requesting to forward my summer program to your other school groups, friends, church groups and anyone who may benefit from the same PLEASE.
Curriculum :-
Incoming 6th graders
Revising the necessary basic concepts from 5th grade, used in 6th grade.
Getting acquainted with the middle school format of regular quizzes and tests, homework format, and everything they need to know (math related) before they enter middle school. It is a huge transition.
Completing few units from 6th grade curriculum. It depends on the pace, the students are able to manage. 5th grade to 6th grade is one of the major transitions and I have to work on a number of factors to make them middle school ready.
Incoming 7th graders
Non Accelerated
Revising the necessary basic concepts from 6th grade.
Completing few units from the 7th grade. Non accelerated classes go slow and steady with less pressure providing more time to dive deeper into concepts. Their quizzes and tests have less questions with less difficulty.
Accelerated
introduction to fast paced program.
Introducing the rigorous pace and pattern of an accelerated path. Homework and class work formats to be followed.
Completing few units from 7th grade accelerated book to give them a confident head start. Please know that initial grades can do significant damage to the whole year grades.
Incoming 8th graders.
Accelerated
Completing the green book volume 2 with 4 units.
Revising volume 1 for the better understanding of concepts absolutely necessary to even start the algebra 1 book which will be finished in 8th grade itself.
Introducing the format, high school follows in different paths (non accelerated, accelerated and double accelerated)
consultation available for parents with a million questions about high school, the teachers and what to expect. Of course for free.
Non- Accelerated
1. Revising the necessary basic concepts from 7th grade
2. Introducing reveal math green book volume 1 (8th grade) which will be used in school. Completing few units. This will depend on the student's understanding of 7 th grade concepts.
Geometry (includes introduction to trigonometry)
Big idea math book. Last year we could almost finish the book. We completed 9 units.
Geometry class includes the introduction of trigonometry.
Algebra 2
Big idea math book
Last year we could complete 6 units in two modules. Algebra 2 is difficult. It needs more time in explaining.
